21st Century Program

Beecher Schools is Proud to Announce the 21st Century Program!

The CCLC Program begins October 1, 2008. Eligible students: Grades K-8 at Dailey, Tucker and BMSA. The program consists of Before and After School Programs and will also be provided  in the Summer 2009! The CCLC Program is subject to an annual approval for a five (5) year period.

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant Program's focus is to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities for children attending low-performing schools.  Tutorial services and academic enrichment activities are designed to help students meet local and state academic standards in subjects such as reading and math.  In addition, 21st CCLC programs provide youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, technology education programs, art, music and recreation programs, counseling and character education to enhance the academic component of the program. The 21st CCLC Program is a key component of President Bush's No Child Left Behind Act.

The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
